Carreg Dressage offers an outstanding choice of stallions at stud. Heroi and Nilo have been bred by Dona Sophia Braacamp Sobral Lobo de Vasconcelos at the famous Casal Branco Stud in Portugal.

This is a fantastic opportunity to access some of the very best Lusitano bloodlines outside Portugal. You are invited to view both stallions and see them work at Carreg Dressage.

1. Nilo
Nilo was graded 75.5 points in Beja in 1999. He has an extraordinary presence and outstanding paces as would be expected from his top quality bloodline.

He is showing great aptitude for dressage with good lateral work, piaffe, passage and canter changes as well as powerful extensions.

Nilo was champion of champions at the 2002 The Lusitano Society of Great Britain’s Annual Breed Show. And 2nd at Royal Windsor Horse Show and The Lusitano Society of Great Britain’s Annual Breed Show  in 2004.

2. Heroi
Heroi was a silver medallist at Golega and graded 73 points. He displays a gentle temperament combined with a willing approach to work and is now fuly trained.

Heroi was sponsored by the APSL to travel to Germany and Belgium as an example of the breed.


Heroi is a mainstay of Equilibre Horse Theatre. He was also placed 2nd and 3rd at the Royal Windsor Horse Show 2005.

3. Cordero I
Cordero is a very striking stallion with a great deal of presence, he is an eyecatching and very memorable horse. Cordero has very loose and elastic paces making him particularly suitable for competition dressage Kalman de Jurenak spoke very highly both of his ability and attitude to work when ridden by well known dressage rider Dianne Breeze at his clinics.Cordero  won his class against other Pure Bred Spanish Horses at the Iberian Show in Shropshire in 2005.

This stallion has a very affectionate nature and is excellent to handle in every way.

Coredro I was bred and graded at 78% in Sevilla, Spain; by Fernando Baones Gonzalez.

breeds which is one of themost respected studs in Portugal.
